Give us control of our digital identity
The need to control our own Internet identities has never been more distinct than it is today….and it's only getting started. This isn't just that, 'my address is correct', but that, 'I am who I say I am and you can trust my identity just like you trust my driver's license or passport'.
Over the last few months we have had some fantastic feedback from the industry both in terms of the miiCard proposition and also the need to address trust and online identity. The ability to prove that we are who we say we are, in a purely online environment, has obvious benefits for those of us actively engaged within the Internet. Equally, this proof of identity has huge ramifications to those organisations transacting online as well.
As with any new solution or technology, adoption is always one of the first and usually the greatest challenge. We are committed to building a user-centric solution that gives the consumer as much awareness, control and management of their identity as possible. This message is well received by those in financial services we've spoken to - they are starting to see the benefits of having a common identity across all of their activities and propositions, whilst coming to terms with not having control over this identity themselves.
One of the first questions we get asked is, "Who's using it?" It's a question that must be prefaced with, "Who, within the industry, is accepting miiCards?", because as soon as we start to build our customer base, there will be users. To galvanise the user community, who are increasingly seeking self-help capabilities, and bring pressure on the online sector to start making changes, we have started a campaign. A campaign not only to help qualify interest from consumers wanting convenience, protection and better control - but a campaign to get the industry to take the digital identity seriously. We have a solution, we know others are also working to address the problem and technologies are now standard. What we need is your help to build demand. Signup and show your support to our campaign - invite your friends and show the industry that the world is changing and we need to change with it.
