Preview of miiCard in use for online trading

Last week at Finovate Fall, our demo (which unfortunately fell victim to the wifi gods) was to include a preview of how miiCard can be used outside of Financial Services.

miiCard can be used to create a level of trust in a whole range of areas of online activity such as buying and selling, internet dating and social networking to make our interactions and transactions faster and safer.

Reflections on Finovate Fall 2011

James Varga rehearsing at FinovateFallOkay, so it's been a week now since Finovate Fall 2011 and I think we've almost recovered from what was a crazy but fruitful few days. Not only did we get involved in Finovate but were at Sibos in Toronto as a finalist in the Innotribe Startup competition. Two big events...one week - please organisers, don't let this happen again, we're not sure we can handle it!

Sibos update: New economies and currencies and digital ID key themes

Stephen Brannan at InnotribeWe've just received a report from Stephen Brannan (pictured left), one of our Directors, who is at Sibos in Toronto representing miiCard in the Innotribe StartUp Challenge. Here's what he had to say:

‘Call it your online driver’s license’ - exciting developments for electronic IDs from the US

NYT: Call it your online driver's licenseWe’ve seen some exciting developments from the US this past week on the need for online authentication systems to identify Internet users to the same level a driver’s licence or passport works offline.

We're sleeping out to raise money for homeless kids

We've just signed up to sleep out on the streets of Edinburgh for Byte Night - the IT industry's annual sleep out in support of Action for Children, on Friday 7th October, 2011.

Why are we doing it?

The statistics on youth homelessness are shocking:

We’re through to the Innotribe StartUp Challenge Finals @ SIBOS

A big thank you to everyone who voted for miiCard in the Innotribe StartUp Challenge - we’re through to the finals, at the Sibos conference in Toronto, Canada next week.

Last year, miiCard was voted ‘Most Promising Startup’ at the same event and this year is one of ten selected out of 200 applicants competing for a share of the $100k cash prize.
