Over the last five weeks we've published a series of tips on how you can take control of your professional reputation online. This final tip, about proving your identity online is particularly relevant as we look for ways to build trust in our professional networks at a time when we're starting to experience first hand the risks and limitations of not being able to prove 'I am who I say I am' purely online.

5. Prove you are who you say you are

It’s becoming more and more important to know who we are dealing with online. In professional networking this is important because we use sites like LinkedIn for business deals, collaborations and recruitment and often we connect with people we haven’t actually ever met in real life before.
