DrupalCamp Scotland brings together the best of the Developer Community

Last weekend we were proud to sponsor DrupalCamp Scotland 2013 in Glasgow, an event that brought together over 80 Drupal developers from across the country and beyond.

Drupal Scotland Chairman Duncan Davidson said the 4th annual camp was a great sucess. "Drupal prides itself on the strength of its community so it was fantastic to bring together so many keen developers and supporting business for a day to share our learnings, celebrate our successes and see what's in store for the future of Drupal."

miiCard's Paul O'Neill and Alan Keir report back on the day's events:

Team miiCard enjoyed a full and varied day at Drupal Camp Scotland on Saturday.

Shannon Vettes from Commerce Guys flew in from Paris to give an enthusiastic and entertaining keynote on practical project management, breaking up a day of talks and networking.

Everything from how Drupal applications have been improving the prospects of students in some of Scotland’s most deprived regions to a peek at what the future has in store with Drupal 8 were covered by engaging speakers and watched by appreciative audiences.

Winners are grinners

The event finished with the Drupal Scotland AGM (with awards!), everyone then retired to a nearby pub to catch up on the day’s proceedings and make new friends the Scottish way.

Congratulations to the Drupal Scotland Award winners Heehaw Digital and Creative MW who took home design and website awards and Joachim Noreiko who was awarded Scottish Drupalista of the Year for outstanding contributions to the Drupal Community.

Feedback for our Drupal Module

We weren’t just sponsoring the event but were also there to introduce our new Drupal module that plugs miiCard’s strong identity assurance into any Drupal 7 site. We were on the hunt for feedback and got lots of great comments, some from developers wanting to know more, some from companies who saw the value they could bring to their customers with miiCard identity verification.

Our Drupal 7 module is undergoing final reviews now and will be available from Drupal.org shortly – you can register your interest on our Developer’s Getting Started page and you’ll be the first to know when it goes live.
