When you are selling high value goods worth thousands of dollars on eBay and other auction sites, it can be difficult to win the trust of your customers. The risk of being scammed or ‘getting ripped off’ is a big deterrent. And, with the alarming rise of fraud through online identity theft, more and more people are asking themselves, “Is it safe to buy online?”
Trust is central to the Internet shopping experience and as any successful eBay or online auction vendor will tell you, the key to winning the sale is gaining your customer’s trust.

Are you looking for eBay identity verification? We are seeing more and more people looking to create trust in this fast growing online marketplace and we are not at all surprised.
There are some 113 million active registered accounts on eBay, and from April to June of this year there was a massive 16 billion dollars in closed sales.

As we use sites like eBay, Craigslist, Gumtree and AutoTrader to buy more expensive things online, we need to place a lot of trust in both the sites and the people we buy from.

As the value of our transactions increase on online auction and classifieds sites, the greater the risk of fraud, as Gordon discovered when he tried to buy a tractor on eBay.
Gordon (not his real name), 51, is a Company Director in Midlothian, Scotland. He is married and has two children. Gordon had been looking for a compact tractor to help manage his extensive garden, and one to which he could add a snowplough for the winter months.
