miiCard becomes TRUSTe sealholder, demonstrates commitment to consumer privacy protection.
TRUSTe certification signifies that TRUSTe has thoroughly reviewed miiCard’s privacy policies, and that miiCard will submit to ongoing site monitoring, as well as participate in TRUSTe’s consumer privacy dispute resolution program. The TRUSTe Web Privacy Seal also immediately conveys to site visitors that miiCard collects and handles consumers’ personal data responsibly and in accordance with all current governing laws and regulations, such as the Federal Trade Commission’s Fair Information Practice Principles.
Consumers prefer Web sites that demonstrate responsiveness to privacy concerns, set clear expectations for the processing of personal information and offer timely choices should those expectations change.
“An overwhelming majority of consumers look for trustmarks before engaging online,” said Chris Babel, CEO of TRUSTe. “The presence of the TRUSTe Web Privacy Seal instantly indicates that a company follows the very highest privacy policies available – building consumer confidence and increasing online interactions. With TRUSTe certification, businesses – such as miiCard – let customers know that they take online privacy seriously and handle their personal information responsibly and with the greatest care.”
“We are pleased to join TRUSTe in increasing consumer trust and following industry best privacy practices,” said James Varga, CEO of miiCard. “TRUSTe certification serves as a benchmark in our ongoing commitment to building consumer trust.”
TRUSTe also provides its clients and their customers with an efficient process to resolve privacy disputes through its online Watchdog Dispute Resolution service. Each year TRUSTe resolves thousands of complaints filed by sealholders’ customers and TRUSTe’s privacy seals generate tens of millions of click-throughs by consumers seeking to verify their authenticity.
